What I do want to tell you about, is the effort to create a working model of the DHR, in full scale, using a computer program made by the Auran Company called Trainz. Full scale means that when trains are run on the railway, the running time of the model will closely match the actual time in real life.
The Trainz DHR Project Group is now working with Trainz TRS2004 and creating many hundreds of custom items so that they can duplicate, as closely as possible, the look and operation of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. They have created the terrain elevations and main line from actual maps of the route, models of actual buildings and stations on the DHR, and models of the rolling stock, including those beautiful steam engines.
