State Governor Presents Prizes at
Darjeeling Schools Drama Competition

At a ceremony on 22 October 2008 in the grounds of Raj Bhavan, Darjeeling, the Governor of West Bengal, His Excellency Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi  presented the prizes at the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway  2008 Schools  Drama Competition.
The competition was sponsored and funded by the Education Group of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society (DHRS), and jointly organised by the Education Group and Inner Wheel Club, Darjeeling. The competition attracted entries from over 20 local schools. 
The finalist schools presented imaginative and high quality five minute entries and each winning team received a framed DHR painting. Every child taking part received a commemorative Darjeeling Himalayan Railway pencil. During the proceedings the children participated in a quiz, themed on key facts about the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
